Week Twelve

All:

We are back in business this week. The outlook suggests the snow will hold, and the worst of the chill will be off by Wednesday. As I write (Sunday) all the lifts are running and if you can ski the few closed runs you are a better skier than I – it wouldn’t take much.

I believe we will have the latest crop of badges in hand by then.

St. Pat’s – March 15th

See below for details

Wot!! Smuggs 55+ isn’t the only such club??

I got an email from one Rosie Piller who has compiled a list of US ski clubs for seniors, with a view to having a place to check out when you venture beyond Smuggs’ confines.
The list is at this link. If you feel the urge to amend it, please follow the instructions therein.

Getting Back Up To Speed

Jeff Trainor is offering to guide who are folks getting back into skiing on how to improve their game. See him at the meeting, or email him at jtrainor05@gmail.com

End Of Season Banquet

  • We are seeking ignominious tales of this season’s tales of derring-do, pratfalls, incidents that some might rather keep under wraps and any other rumors or alternate truths for the Ski-Tip Awards.
Tip off one of your board members and the facts will be kept in the strictest confidence, until they are inexplicably leaked and celebrated at the banquet.
  • We are also compiling this year’s list of inductees into the Order Of The Titanium, those folks who have joints replaced in the last  year. Again, tip-offs appreciated.
  • We will certainly be reviving the Order of The Long Johns, having been egregiously overlooked last year.

See ya’ Wednesday
Bring your badges.

One response to “Week Twelve”

  1. Hi Liam,

I just wanted you to know that I am still interested in the club. A combination of schedule conflicts and family obligations has kept me from attending over the past month. And now I am going to be gone for the next 3 weeks! Please hang on to my badge and keep me on the email list. I hope to hit the slopes the second half of March!
