Hi All,
Our next club walk will be on Wednesday, July 3 at the Birds of Vermont Museum in Huntington (weather permitting, of course).
We will meet at the bench near the entrance to the museum at 10:30 AM (note time change). Please let Demie or Jean know in advance if you plan to go.
Address: 900 Sherman Hollow Road, Huntington VT 05462. Directions at this link.
Museum Website: Birds of Vermont Museum – where natural history meets art
Trail Map: BoVM-trail-map-2021-web.pdf (birdsofvermont.org)
For the main group walk, we will stay on easy to moderate trails (looking at the trail map, see Pop’s Trail and the lower portion of Bob’s Trail as well as a short walk around the pond south of Sherman Hollow Road). All told, probably not more than a mile and a half. But feel free to go off on a more challenging route!
Note: Hiking boots or sturdy walking shoes and long pants recommended. A walking pole might be helpful. There is a bit of uphill, but nothing too steep or difficult.
The museum site houses an amazing collection of birds carved from wood. There is no charge to walk the trails but there is a small charge for the museum. Our plan is to walk the trails and afterwards anyone who wishes to visit the museum can do so.
A few of us are planning to stop for lunch at Stone Corral in Richmond Home – Stone Corral on the way home. We hope you will join us.
Hope to see you on Wednesday.
Jean, Mary and Demie
