All,
This a summer of repeats! This paddle is run by Jena Chafin.
After the last attempt someone noted that there was a canoe rental business that served the reservoir, though not on-site. If you know about this please post to here as a comment, and/or on the FaceBook post. Thanks.
Meet at 10:00am at the lower parking and boat launch area of the Green Mountain Reservoir State Park.
RSVP’s not needed.
Look for Jena & Mike who I am told will be sporting a huge red sun hat and their red canoe replete with an umbrella to keep their pups comfortable. Name tags would be a good idea.
Here is a Map that gives directions.
There is more information on the reservoir at here, here, and here. If you are not familiar with the park you are in for a treat. Know also that it is under threat. The dam and small hydro generating is operated by Morrisville Power and Light who are pushing to relinquish responsibility for the dam. It is a hot topic around here.
Vermont State Parks rely on user fees for day-to-day operation and maintenance $5 for adults.
To enjoy unlimited, discounted use of the parks, consider a season vehicle pass or an individual pass.
Punch cards never expire and they provide another way to visit the parks at a discount.
If you are 62 years or older and a Vermont resident, or a Vermont resident who is a veteran who has been honorably discharged from active duty in US armed services, you are eligible for a lifetime day entry pass into the parks called the Green Mountain Passport.
