Have a day out:
On behalf of Terry and Jane Shaw at Visions of Vermont Art Gallery in Jeffersonville, I am writing today to invite you to an exciting upcoming event we are hosting here at the gallery. On Sunday, September 15th from 4-6pm, we will be hosting a closing reception for our summer show The Sport of the Spirit. Featuring works by Leo Mancini-Hresko, Eric Tobin, George Van Hook, Karen Winslow, and many more, The Sport of the Spirit captures the viewpoints both painters and outdoor recreationists share as they explore our local Vermont landscape. From gravel riding in Pleasant Valley to fly fishing in the Brewster River, these scenes capture the distinct trait that unites plein-air artists and outdoor adventurers alike: the act of finding our line in the outdoors. The show runs from July 26 to September 15, 2024 in our Sugarhouse Gallery.
This reception will include light refreshments ahead of our main event, a special talk between artist Eric Tobin and Adam “Howie” Howard, CEO of Height of Land Publications, about the intersections of landscape painting and outdoor recreation in our area. The talk will kick-off around 4:30pm in our Carriage House Gallery, and this event is free and welcome to all!
