Paddle At Green Mountain Reservoir

This week we are back to paddling at Green Mountain Reservoir, and the weather looks glorious at 70° with a light wind breeze

Meet at this Wednesday, July 23rd, 10:00am at the lower parking and boat launch area of the Green Mountain Reservoir State Park.
RSVP’s not needed.

The details are unchanged from prior weeks…

Look for Jena & Mike and their red canoe replete with an umbrella to keep their pups comfortable. Name tags would be a good idea.

Here is a Map that gives directions.

There is more information on the reservoir at herehere, and here. If you are not familiar with the park you are in for a treat. Know also that it is under threat.

Vermont State Parks rely on user fees for day-to-day operation and maintenance $5 for adults.

To enjoy unlimited, discounted use of the parks, consider a season vehicle pass or an individual pass.

Punch cards never expire and they provide another way to visit the parks at a discount.

If you are 62 years or older and a Vermont resident, or a Vermont resident who is a veteran who has been honorably discharged from active duty in US armed services, you are eligible for a lifetime day entry pass into the parks called the Green Mountain Passport.

There are rentals available https://upnorthcanoe.com/tour/delivery-lakeside-rental/.  “Three simple steps to book: pick vessels and equipment, location and delivery time, sign our electronic waiver and give us a form of payment, we then text your receipt along with your boat model, color, number and precise location. When you’re finished leave everything as you found it and text us.”

Last year it was in the ballpark of $50 inclusive of paddles, life jacket, delivery and pick up.
