Our annual, and very popular walk and picnic at Niquette Bay State Park is looming

Niquette Bay State Park, 274 Raymond Road, Colchester. Admission is free with Green Mountain Passport. (For those over 62, this may be obtained for $2 from your Town Clerk and is valid at Vermont State Parks for life.) Otherwise admission is $3 per person by indicating you are a Smuggs 55+ Ski Club member. ALL MUST CHECK IN AT PARK OFFICE WHETHER A PASSPORT HOLDER OR PAYING GUEST.
Hikers, meet at 10 am. We will start hiking at 10:10 am. Two options for group walking routes: ½ mile on Allen Trail to beach and 9/10 mile on Ledges Trail (total 1 ¼ miles) -OR- Allen Trail only to beach and back (1 mile). For those going on the Ledges Trail, poles are recommended as there are roots and some points of elevation. The Ledges Trail includes a beautiful vista of Malletts Bay.
Cookout at 11:30 am. Jena and Mike will provide burgers, dogs, rolls, condiments, paper products, utensils. Indicate if your preference is vegetarian as we will accommodate.
Bring lawn chair, beverage, side dish or dessert to share, bug repellent, pole(s) if doing Ledges walk.
Feel free to join for the cookout only if you’d prefer not to walk.
