Ready, set …

Old man winter has arrived early. We have about two feet here at the house bt Smuggs. The Notch is seeing plenty of activity.

Smuggs’ Opening Day is scheduled for Friday, November 28^th, so our first club day is Wednesday December 3^rd at 9:00 AM as usual in the Oak Room in the Mountain Grill. We are really looking forward to seeing you there and getting the season off to a strong start. Membership dues this year are $40 – our first increase in fourteen years. Please bring your check with you. If you are thinking of joining, come along and let us treat you to a coffee and introduce you to your new best friends.

We have two new event announcements for this year:

• We are organizing a club trip to the Ottawa Winterlude
• We are restarting the Après Ski speakers’ series.

WINTERLUDE

Heidi Crossman is proposing a weekend trip to this year’s Winterlude in Ottawa for February 6^th– 8^th. Contact Heidi at heidicrossma@gmail.com if you are interested. OttawaTourism.ca/en/event-calendar/Winterlude, Rideau Canal Skateway. We’ll pass along more details as they become available.

Après Ski Speakers Series.

Susan Larson has been hard at work reviving the very well received speakers’ series. We have two stellar speakers to kick things off.

• Adam Howard, owner and publisher of Height Of Land publications on his trip to Antarctica.
• Noah Dines who holds the record for most human-powered vertical feet skied in a year.
  (Which might give a couple of our members some bad ideas)

The speaker series is held in the Bootleggers Lounge and is open to non-members for a $5.00 fee. I attach a flyer so you can invite your friends and spread the word. Please also consider posting this to your local Front Porch Forum group, local library or store.  If there are any changes we will let you know.
