This Week is School vacation week for other New England states, so as usual we will not meet this Wednesday, the 18th. The Midweek Hybrid Pass is subject to day Bash Badge ticket prices this week – and may sell out.

Folks usually meet between 9:00 and 9:30

• Morse Mountain: Gazebo near the Village Lift
• Upper Mountain Skiers: Yurt or the lifts
• XC & Snowshoe: Nordic Center

Facebook is also a good place to coordinate or suggest alternative meet-ups.

Loads of snow and brilliant sunshine (at least today!). What’s not to love… aside from endless shoveling?

Next Meeting is on Wednesday, the 25^th when our Après Speaker is Mike DeBonis, Executive Director of the Green Mountain Club, on hiking when older.

If you have been living under a rock, it may  come  a surprise to learn that Smuggs has been sold to Bear Den Partners, who recently acquired Burke Mountain following the Jay debacle. The Vermont Digger’s take is at this link. The community and industry response seems mostly positive: relief that Smugglers’ Notch remains independent, and optimism for future investment and improvements.

There is a rumor afoot that some members have been seen schmoozing the new owner. More to follow.
