Week Eight – Volunteer!

There is more snow around, and we get the place to ourselves after the holidays. The forecast tells us it will remain below freezing, so conditions should be a good, if lacking a bit of sunshine. I’ll take it.

As I write Smuggs has 11 miles of XC open, with 8 miles groomed, Madonna 1 & 2 are open. Pretty all of Sterling and most of Morse/Highlands are open. Things are looking up. The lifts and trails report is at this link.

Next Week is the Cambridge Winter Wellness program followed next week by the Winter Fest (at this Facebook Link). The Cambridge Area Rotary could REALLY use some help keeping an eye the students at the resort. Peter Ingvoldstad writes:

Our Cambridge Area Rotary Club has a busy schedule for the next few weeks.

First is our Winter Wellness program where we support bringing Cambridge Elementary School students to Smugglers’ to learn to ski or ride.
Second is our Pie for Breakfast event.

We could use folks to ski or board / chaperone with the kids, Thursday and Friday, January 26th and 27th and / or February 9th and 10th.

We also could use help slicing and serving “PIE” with us at our Pie for Breakfast at Cambridge Elementary School which runs from 8 to 11 on Saturday the 28th of January.

If you would like to help, please call me or email me.

Thank you,

Peter Ingvoldstad
