Summer 2026 calendar

As the last of the snow lingers on Madonna and Sterling we can turn our attention to the summer.
All the events shown below are listed on the club website smuggs55plus.com under the “calendar” menu,  (smuggs55plus.com/club-calendar/). We will do our darndest to keep it up-to-date – things will inevitably change. Each week’s event will be confirmed in the usual email the weekend before.

The summer kicks off with Bench Rest Rifle Shooting event at the Just For Fun range in Fairfax on Wednesday, June 3rd, 10:00am-noon, courtesy of George Putnam.

Winter 2026 – 2027

Looking forward to next season, Sara Holloway will organize a day trip to Burke Mountain in February.
Jena and Mike Chafin will be organizing a trip to the Quebec City winter festival on the weekend of February 5th  – 7th.

Après Ski Speaker Series

We hope to continue the Après Ski speaker series next winter. Susan Larson is unavailable to continue arranging this, so here is your chance to build on a great foundation. If you are interested in assuming Susan’s mantle do get in touch with me and join these wonderful people who make this great club what it is. I can give you a broad outline of what is involved and Susan will be able to offer limited guidance based on her experience last year.

Also – if you have ideas for speaker suggestions do pass them along to me and, hopefully, we can get a new volunteer off to a flying start.

I think that’s enough for now.
Keep your eye out for the bench Rest shooting details.
