Our next walk on August 26th will be the Brewster River Trail in Jeffersonville. This trail is mostly easy with just a few uphill climbs.
We will meet at 10AM in the parking lot off Canyon Road by the covered bridge. Directions at this link.
For those interested in lunch, we will be heading to Poorhouse Pies in Cambridge after the walk.

The hike will be on the 27th, and we are hiking the Lake Mansfield Trail, also known as the Nebraska Notch Trail. Meet at 9:00am at the Lake Mansfield Trout Club. The address is: 4400 Nebraska Valley Road, Stowe, VT 05672. Directions at this link. The hike is considered moderate, with a round-trip distance of 3.2 miles and an elevation gain of 650 feet. It should take us 2-2.5 hours round trip. Make sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring hiking poles if you have them, as well as plenty of water, snacks, and bug spray! Hope to see you there!! Wednesday, September 2nd: Meet at Louie’s Landing 10 am- Missisquoi River, Swanton; located on Rte 78 across from Missisquoi Wildlife Refuge Center (29 Tabor Rd).

There is ample parking at Louie’s Landing, a State of Vermont boat access area. There are no restrooms, but there are restrooms at the Wildlife Refuge, a short distance from the boat launch.
This is a calm paddle with an abundance of waterfowl. We can launch and paddle to the mouth of the Missisquoi River where it empties into the Missisquoi Bay on Lake Champlain, just short of the US/ Canada border.
Bring water, lunch or snacks (if you desire) and your paddling gear. Get ready for a peace filled paddle surrounded by the wildlife of the river. For anyone who would like to eat a late lunch out, Green Mountain Bistro Bar and Grill is located on the way back into Swanton at 3 Canada St. They are open for lunch until 3pm.
